Bus Routes (1)

I wrote this to LTA some time back.... Wanna see their reply? Stay tuned...

Hi, I understand that LTA is reviewing the existing bus routes. If I can add in my suggestion, I would like to suggest that the bus routes of feeder bus services be looked into. Feeder bus services (to the heartlands) have existed for a long long time. Especially in old towns, the routes were in place even before MRT stations were built. I would give 2 examples. Service number 334 from Jurong East MRT station serves Jurong West st 42. However, the nearest MRT station for residents staying along Jurong West st 42 will know that the nearest MRT station is not Jurong East but rather, Lake Side or Chinese Garden. I think the feeder bus services should send residents to the nearest MRT stations. This will inprove productivity that is in line with PM Lee's message. Also, the bus service 229 from Bedok MRT which serves residents along Bedok south ave 3 should pass by Tanah Merah MRT station, which is the nearest MRT station from Bedok South. I hope you will consider my feedback. It will greatly reduce the traveling time for many Singaporeans and thus, giving more time for rest to all sleep deprived Singaporeans.
