Student Life VS Working Life

I know I should be posting on my MEL trip. But I'm still finding time to upload the photos. Tried uploading a vid but got jammed. So this words only post for now.

When I was a student, people have been telling me that student life is the best, when you start working, you'll miss the studying days. Frankly, after working for 4 mths, I think that working life is better.. Who in the world would think that student life is better? Those people who said that.. I really wonder what do you do as a student. When I was doing my Bachelor in NUS, I studied practically from 8am till 10 plus pm weeks before exams. Despite that, every CGL would know that the few weeks before exams are the best honeymoon period cos you'll be excused from a lot of stuff and there're people covering your CG even.. It was a good break so that you can concentrate on your studies. That's the so-called exam period. On the non-exam period, things are just packed back to back till you do not have time to breathe.

As a student, you also do not have the excess money and in order to have the extra cash, you'll have to give tuition and more tuition until you have the money but no life to enjoy it. When you're working, your time in office is only 9am -6pm. With flexible lunch time (depends on company policy).

The best part is you'll have the weekends to yourself. Nothing on your mind to worry about. No projects meetings or lecture slides to read through, bla bla bla.

Also, when you're a student, you're totally accountable to yourself. I mean if you do not do well, you'll pay the price cos the certificate or the degree follows you and only you alone. However, when you're working, anything that happens to you, will be really the company's concern. It will not follow you if you change job. Unless you're running your own company that is. Even if you're running a company, as long as it is registered as a company and not you.. the loses, if any, will still be under the company, not you.

So you see, I cannot really understand why people say that a student life is much better. Unless they are all from Arts where they spend 1.5 hr a day in lecture and 5 hrs a day in starbucks chatting and the remaining 4 hrs along orchard rd shopping. Or perhaps it's comments from people who sleep till 11am -12 noon type who cannot wake up before 9am.. Ya, then perhaps working life is really tough. In fact, life itself is tough no matter where you go for these people. (Ok, I know a lot of Arts people will want to strangle me now. not all la, but the typical ones)

Perhaps the best thing about a student is that you can have the flexibility to adjust your own schedule. If you've something urgent, you can always push something elsewhere.. Technically, being free after 3pm is possible. I suspect people who claim that stident life is better are really people who have no other commitments and have nothing to do after 3pm so they can go watch movies, shopping and all that... Ha, perhaps.

So what do you think my reader? Student life better or Working life?

hand and legs up, workin life is betta, can cab, can claim, can be financially independent, no commitment or worries after office hour, no test or exam..

must sleep early, so it improves health, must wake up early, so it lengthens the day, must use ur brain, so it stimulates e brain cells, must mingle and pringle, so it extends ur circle of friends.. and in e midst of all these, e cashier just keeps ringing louder and louder as the years go by.. one day, it'll be so loud that you'll decide to retire..
